As I work through your Indirect Pattern Letter assignments, I'm reminded of the many, many bad news messages we have all received over the past 7-8 days.

As an example, I have included the email Michaels sent out last week.  Notice that it includes all the parts discussed in class - a buffer (agreeable news), the reasons, which come before the bad news, then there's more neutral news to end, and a positive look forward.

Michaels

While this is just one example, I will guess you have all received multiple emails from every company you have ever given your email address to, and they all will follow this format.  Even Fanshawe's own messages follow our structure quite well.
